BSc (Hons.) Digital Art & Technology
(formerly BSc MediaLab Arts) is one of the top three new-media
design courses in the UK, with an established record for enabling
high-profile careers in web design, digital TV, gaming, audio
production and mobile phone applications. Through a critical combination
of creative design and digital technologies we are creating the
designers of the future.
“The BSc (Hons) Digital Art &
Technology degree (formerly known as Media Lab Arts)
is best understood as a metaphor...
Digital Art & Technology is a car crash between two vehicles
traveling at extraordinary speeds that take four years to happen.
In one car are internationally recognized computer scientists
able to teach programming and control of visual media.
In the other are artists, musicians, theorists and
designers who are determined to reinvent how art, language and
human beings are represented in the 21st century.
Miraculously everyone walks away from the crash
unscarred, and from the wreckage emerges a software artist able
to operate at an exceptionally creative level in both corporate
and cultural industries. "This is one of the best courses
in the country, the course is well run by careful and committed
staff. There is a good mix of theory and practical work not always
achieved in studio based courses. The standards the students reach
are high. The University should be proud of this award"
